Why Dust Causes Problems
The PS5 moves a large amount of air through a compact cooling system. Dust can collect around the fan, heatsink, vents and power-supply air channels. As airflow becomes restricted, the console has to work harder to move heat away from its main components.
Cleaning the outside vents only removes surface dust. A full internal service allows the deeper airflow path to be cleaned properly.
