This PS5 came into Tech Lab for an HDMI port repair and full internal service. Once opened, the console showed heavy dust buildup through the cooling system, so we completed both jobs properly in one repair.

What We Found
The console had a significant amount of dust around the fan, heatsink and internal airflow path. That kind of buildup can reduce cooling performance and increase operating temperatures.
HDMI Port Repair
The damaged HDMI port was removed using controlled board-level soldering. The motherboard connection area was inspected before the replacement socket was fitted and the pins checked.
Check the HDMI socket, pins and surrounding motherboard area.
Remove the damaged connector with controlled heat.
Clean and inspect the board pads and connection points.
Install and solder the replacement HDMI port.
Reassemble and verify stable HDMI video output.
Full Internal Service
Because the cooling system was heavily contaminated, the PS5 was fully stripped down and serviced while the HDMI work was being completed.
- Fan and heatsink cleaned
- Internal airflow channels cleared
- Cooling assembly inspected
- Liquid metal reapplied
- Console exterior cleaned
- Reassembled and final-tested
HDMI Output Restored & Console Fully Serviced
After reassembly, the PS5 powered on correctly and produced a stable image through HDMI. The service and HDMI repair were both completed successfully.
